Inventory Senior Accountant

Berry Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant, focused on inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will take an active role with our internal and external customer base to support operational improvements and business growth, as a key part of our accounting team. Responsibilities

Lead Inventory Accounting Processes:
Take full ownership of the inventory accounting function, including new, used, and rental equipment. Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with both GAAP standards and overall business and division objectives.

    • Analyze and validate inventory costs and adjustments to ensure income is recognized in a manner that accurately reflects economic activity and complies with GAAP.
    • Proactively identify and resolve system issues affecting inventory and the general ledger, working to prevent future discrepancies through root-cause analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Partner with the Business:
Build strong working relationships across the divisions, to gain a deeper understanding of business processes and ensure alignment between operational activities and financial reporting. Serve as a trusted advisor by translating accounting insights into business value.

Month-End Close Support:
Assist in the monthly close process to ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial reporting to senior leadership.

Drive Project Initiatives & ERP Transition Support:
Support strategic projects involving organizational change and data transformation. Play a key role in Berry’s transition to a new ERP system in 2026 by being adaptable, solutions-oriented, and an effective collaborator.

Team Collaboration & Support:
Serve as a flexible team player by providing backup coverage across the accounting team as needed, contributing to a collaborative and responsive work environment.

Qualifications

  • 4 year Business Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years experience in accounting or inventory analysis / reconciliation
  • Capable of building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven data transformation, analytic and visualization skills
